SF Zine Fest talks with Cult 28

In three sentences, tell us what your work is about.

We are Cult 28 and we are a stream of unconsciousness with random lines. We are working on sucking less and try to build a body of artwork for galleries.

How did you first find out about zines? What inspired you to make your own zines?

Found out about zines through fellow artists and local bookstores. I was inspired by other zines, and also working a 9-5 job, it's fun to have a side project that is completely your own ideas and are unhindered.

What do you do when you’re not creating?

When we are not creating we are looking at other artists work, and watching films, and just enjoying life.

What is an unexpected benefit that you’ve experienced from reading/ making zines?

We have discovered a deeper passion for our work. The more art we create, the more creative we get.

How would you advise first timers on making their first zines?

Draw a lot. And there are NO bad ideas.

What are you working on for this year’s SF Zine Fest?

This years zine fest we are working on comics, random sketches, and coloring books.
