GUEST OF HONOR: Nidhi Chanani
SF Zine Fest is thrilled to announce that our Guest of Honor for the 2018 fest is Bay Area-based Indian-American cartoonist and writer Nidhi Chanani, a 2012 Champion of Change honoree by the Obama administration. Nidhi's exceptional debut graphic novel Pashmina, a tale about the hardship and self-discovery that is born from juggling two cultures and two worlds, has received glowing reviews from
numerous publications. Her second graphic novel, Jukebox, about two Muslim-American cousins, Shaheen and Tannaz in San Francisco, is slated to release in 2020.
Nidhi was born in Calcutta and raised in suburban southern California. An instructor in the Master of Fine Arts, Comics program at the California College of Arts, She holds a degree in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She creates because it makes her happy – with the hope that it can make others happy, too.
