Jess (8amtrain) is a lesbian Chinese American artist and historian based in North Oakland on Chochenyo Ohlone land. She works across the mediums of digital illustration and linocut and risograph printmaking to explore the textures of everyday life and envision alternative futures. Jess is currently completing a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies and also enjoys riding transit, watching horror movies, and playing with her cat.

Andreana Rosnik is a queer, chronically ill, white artist-scientist based in San Francisco who makes zines about chronic illness, queerness, and burnout, but also about absurd poems, pretty soaps, and bookish things. They also create fantastical art in colored pencil, ink, & collage.

Niya is a writer, researcher, and artist of various mediums. They use poetry, playwrighting, short-stories, and filmmaking as a way to tell stories for the most marginalized in our society. As a scholar, E’Niyah melds their interest in Black American intellectualism, and cultural tradition with hip hop to define what sound is by region and urban geographies. In playwrighting and film, E’Niyah centers disabled, black, fat, femme, and LGBT voices in slice-of-life stories that cause the audience to consider their own everyday reality.
Black Eyed Elma is a zinester based in midcoast Maine. She writes and illustrates zines about money, labor, hiking challenges, reproductive choice, and niche curiosities. If you like chunky, stapled manifestos that give you something to chew on, you might like her zines.
BLASPHEMY is a black-and-white zine of nostalgia, featuring photos of San Francisco graffiti and style writing in the late 1990’s. 10+ issues produced since 2023.

Christian Yañez is a comic artist and illustrator with over 10 years of experience creating absurd, humorous comics with expressive cartooning and surreal storytelling. His work is influenced by experimental animation and underground comics known for bold visuals, dark humor, and unconventional narratives.
Bri is a queer BIPOC resident of San Francisco/Yelamu Ohlone territory. Their style mixes everything from digital doodles to handmade collages. Their zines explore topics related to cultural identity, environmental awareness, poetry, personal care, social & political advocacy and whatever else’s on their mind!
We are a zine maker's collective formed in the carpool lane.
As we got to know each other on roadtrip up north, we bonded over our shared Chinese cultural heritage. But we discovered that our art and stories came from very different perspectives, each expressed in unexpected yet exciting ways. Our collective embarked on a journey to share art which reflects our varied experiences, from fantasy comics, to photographic memoirs, to vibrant risograph and cyanotypes.
Caspian Walters (they/them) is an Oakland-based zinester and textile artist. They make colorful perzines about being queer and fat, along with organizing compilation zines about textiles or cute video games.
Catalogue Zine is an environmentalist literary magazine and general environmental publisher working to create a space for hopeful, productive, and often overlooked climate conversation. Catalogue publishes art, poetry, prose, op-eds and more, supporting the local art community as we go. We publish both online and in print and have reached over 2200 people, with more than 130 copies in circulation.

CCES Zine club is a student-led literary club of an SFUSD elementary school in the Mission. Huelga is our school’s first literary and arts magazine! The magazine consists of students’ writing, drawings, photographs, and memes, showcasing their views on home, community, freedom, and justice. We accepted submissions in languages of students’ choosing. Fifth grade students met during their lunch to learn about writing, editing, layout, and zine-making. Let’s empower our students! Cempazuchitl's Library is a community project focused on telling Zapotec stories and uplifting narratives reflective of a world in which Indigenous people are safe. This is my love letter to Indigenous peoples- particularly Indigenous Oaxacans in diaspora. I await eagerly for the day we can see the liberation of all oppressed peoples.

CIEM ART STUDIO is a DIY home studio specializing in zines, art prints, and stickers centering themes of nature, identity, polarity, and healing through trauma. They will also be sharing anthology zines from HYPERFIX8, a collective made up of 8 diverse creatives from California, Illinois, and Alaska. We produce an annual anthology zine featuring illustrations, comics, photography, short stories, essays, TTRPGs, and fabric-crafts inspired by an unsettling biome. We would like to debut our third issue, VOID, at SFZF.
CJ is a queer Comic Artist & Writer located in the San Francisco Bay Area, who makes work influenced by kink culture and erotica, as well as woman and queer-centric storytelling, to create a body of work that is both personal and human. Most recently, CJ has been enjoying making comics and illustrations based on her day job as a sexual health educator and simultaneous retail associate, in the world of adult toys.
Claire Lu is an emerging artist in the Bay Area who specializes in comics, zines, and digital illustration. Through her work she explores the intersection of nostalgia, memory, love, loss, longing, and desire. She has exhibited her work at Pancakes & Booze SF, authored a story for Rebirth, a comic anthology, created art for Obsidian Abyss, and tabled at local art markets.
Clifford is a lifelong Bay Area resident who has lived in various parts of the Bay over the years. An avid cartoonist, Clifford’s comics focus on living with mental illness and draw from his experiences of being schizoaffective. Outside of comics, Clifford loves to make art revolving around local sights and scenes; when he’s not painting, he can be found spotting BART trains and building puppets.

Eddy Atoms is an artist & comic author best known for his 2018 comic debut Pinky & Pepper Forever, which was nominated for an Ignatz for "Outstanding Artist" and has since become an online cult classic. Equally informed by punk, zine and furry subcultures, Eddy creates unapologetic art with animal expression and a DIY ethos. He lives with his lover in San Jose, California and their little dog. He is also a painter.

Alex Flores is the creator behind FloresFlowerStuff, a zinester, educator, and maker who grew up in South Florida and began her zine journey in the classroom while teaching in Washington, DC. Hotcake Collective is a group of friends who love to make printed matter. Our first time all meeting in person was at SF Zine Fest 2019. Jamie makes hand pulled relief prints, perzines, and art books often focused on aspects on contemporary Indigenous life, transgender affirmation, queer love, and solidarity with oppressed peoples around the world. Jamie’s zines often feature colored pencil drawings, original poems, collage works, and unique paper inserts.

Komopoko is art made by Kyoko Hirota, an artist based in Northern California. She was born in Chiba, Japan and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to a small town in Mendocino County in 2017, where she began to actively show her work and participate in art shows, craft fairs, and zine festivals. Now she is back in the Bay Area and continuing to create work and participating in local events.

Lavender Phoenix is an organization of trans, queer Asian-Pacific islanders organizing to build power in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was founded in 2004 under the issue of marriage equality, and Lavender Phoenix has expanded to offering alternatives to policing through community safety de-escalation programs, QTAPI peer counseling, and artist workshops.
Lee Black/P. Lei are collaborators with deep roots in California. Lee Black is queer, a RN studying for an MFA at SFSU in Creative Writing and Comic Arts, focusing on memoir, family history, mental health, and working-class struggles.

Little Folx is a Portland-based radical parenting project run by one mom making zines, stickers, buttons, prints, and shirts. My work breaks down leftist politics into something warm, accessible, and family-centered, for parents who are newly curious, quietly radicalized, or just looking for an easier entry point into the work. Anti-authoritarian parenting philosophy meets punk DIY culture, with tools for families raising kids who know another world is possible.

He currently works at Photoworks SF as a film lab technician.

She is a playwright, poet, zine-maker, and arts advocate born and raised in East San José. Inspired by her experience as a second generation Latina-Filipina, she writes about identity, growing up, friendship, and fruit. Mayumi Sasage is a Japanese illustrator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After a 13-year career as a shoe designer in Tokyo, she became a full-time illustrator. Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, ukiyo-e prints, botanicals, and her two cats, she creates illustrations, prints, and cat-themed zines. She is currently illustrating a picture book scheduled for publication in the United States by Penguin Putnam in 2028 and is represented by Essie White Literary.

Miki Kirillov is a Japan-born illustrator based in San Francisco. Through whimsical cat illustrations, she explores themes of child development, family love, and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging). Working across acrylic painting, digital media, and risograph printing, her practice blends playful storytelling with cultural reflection. She regularly participates in local art markets, community events, and café exhibitions.
Mobula & Co. is a collective run by a crew of LGBTQ+, neurodivergent Asian American friends. We hope to reach out to the broader Bay Area community amongst the LGBTQ+ community and BIPOC creatives. Not Great, Not Terrible is the publishing imprint of Rena Tom, an East Bay artist, writer, and curator. No matter the medium, she turns to mundane objects, optical illusions, and found imagery to question and reframe everyday experience. She also volunteers with community Riso printshop Reprographixxx and produces large-scale participatory art installations, plus the occasional pirate radio broadcast.
Now Place 此间 is an artist-run bookstore, small press, and community space based in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Through Now Now Books 此书, we publish small-run zines and artist books by Asian diaspora creators, exploring migration, language, queerness, memory, and everyday life. Our practice connects publishing with gatherings, workshops, and collective experiences, treating print as a social and evolving process.
Jason (they/them) is a queer and trans artist descended from Guangzhou, ruled by Scorpio, and living on occupied Yelamu land. They were taught to wage war with art and to make propaganda for the revolution. They don’t know if they’re succeeding and they feel increasingly disillusioned with the power of art. These days, they are moving towards making art and living in the world in ways that tend to their spirit. You can find them sharing responsibility and practicing collective decision-making to sustain a politicized and equitable worker-owned cooperative, organizing towards abolition, and most importantly, loving on their chosen family, partner and dog.
palace of fruit publishes a small collection of personal & critical zines focusing on decolonialism, anti-imperialism, and class analysis.
I have been publishing as The Panoptic Press since 2013, first in Rochester, NY with a close group of collaborators and more recently in Oakland, CA. The work spans zines and comics and features photography, collage, and poetry. Most titles are lo-fi, limited run, and handmade with the exception of our comics anthology Panoptic Presents, showcasing a number of creators with a larger edition.
Peter Conrad is an artist and graphic novelist whose comics explore the quiet, weird, small moments of life, often by building zine/objects that mimic real-life items such as cassette tapes or prescription medicine.
👁️🐟🫧 Hi! Phishishow here. We are a phishy, showy queer photographer duo, and we bring a little practice of weirdness to you every day. Seven works with film photography and street photography, inspired by Bay Area’s photography scene, and Lingyu merges queer erotica with collage, poetry, and fantasy, celebrating body and sex positivity. Together, we explore queer bodies, ghosts, heritages, kin lives, and the land we now live with.
Elle Lim-Chan (aka phishr_price) is a transfemme, nonbinary, Hakka artist with a masters degree in Comics from California College of Arts. Her illustration and comics practice focuses on honoring and uplifting idiosyncratic moments of nonbinary femme people of the Asian diaspora. Her aesthetic involves combining gestural pencil drawings with digital collage and emphasizing elements such as scan artifacts and uncleaned crops in order to give an organic feel to a digital workflow.
Pickle Nickle Press is an experimental zine press that features work ranging from speculative textile art zines to limited-run editions and ephemera. We believe in the power of subversive storytelling and strive to celebrate the lived experiences and stories of Black folks past, present, and future. And we aren’t scared to throw in a little foolishness to what we create, either!
Pore Gunk is a series of collage-based, handwritten, personal zines by Caitlin Stanton (@codercaitlin). Inspired by the cut-and-paste aesthetic of the first punk zines, Pore Gunk’s topics range from exploring hobbies to questioning career paths to reminiscing on childhood memories. Caitlin got her start in zines after taking a class at the Harvey Milk Community Center back in 2023 and has been hooked ever since.
PULP MESSIAH! is a four-human collective based in Oakland. We make comics, zines, and other nonsense about aliens, gays, gay aliens, and other important topics like cute frogs and childhood and escaping mormonism.

Hello, my name is Nichole Nguyen, and I am a 26-year-old artist that has been making comics for fun for about a decade now. I have made a lot of fan comics for fun, but I am currently moving to making my own original comics. The zines that I created are things that I am interested in such as cooking and talking about my life as someone who lives with both Autism/ADHD and how it has affected my life from when I was a child to as an adult today.
Renee Hyatt Thompson is an artist and zine creator, working across print mediums including serigraph, linocut relief, letterpress, and xerography. Through "Dangersquirrel Zines" she provides mini-zines, mail art, and artistic booklets that emphasize and celebrate positivity and potential. Pieces often blend typography and graphical elements into both art and affirmation—encouragement as we each find ourselves and find a way forward.
Cloris Kuok is a writer, artist, and rebellious humanist. Educated by museums, libraries, startups, ancient poets, and the occasional catastrophe, she makes books, posters, zines, and other records of paying attention.
saildraws is a multimedia artist who likes to paint about places like the ocean, where the strange and familiar meet. They create zines to mull over and share concepts that have stuck in their brain for a long time, like life on the early internet, or the colorful boundaries between light and dark.
Sarah Duyer is a San Francisco-based ceramic artist, illustrator, and zine maker. Sarah has taught at a number of clay studios in the city and continues to create their own line of handmade ceramics for sale online and at in-person events. Sarah also self-publishes a number of art books and zines, including a collaborative project called Pot Pals where artist friends are asked to draw a pot and Sarah brings them to life in clay. Sarah continues to develop their skills as an artist and educator through developing workshops and classes, as well as creating instructional zines as teaching aids. Sarah also includes an element of performance into their work through their alter ego Pot Punisher, artfully breaking pieces that don’t make it through the firing as a way to celebrate the lifecycle of clay and the importance of failure as part of the creative process. Across all media Sarah’s work has a strong design and focus in craftsmanship with a distinct sense of humor and play.

SFUSD Middle School Zines
San Francisco Unified School District middle schoolers, guided by their teacher librarians, create zines on a wide variety of topics of interest to kids. All zines are kid-friendly.
Sophie Margolin lives in Berkeley, California. Her drive to make art comes from her need to deal with and understand her emotional and mental experiences. She makes comics, drawings, and paintings as forms of catharsis.

Sung Illustration
Sung Ill is a second generation Korean comic artist that teaches by day, performs in drag by night, and draws comics whenever they have time in between. Their zines and comics mostly focus on autobiographical topics ranging from gender identity and sexuality as well as some observational pieces on traveling and education.
Sydney Chavan is a designer, illustrator, and novelist. Her narrative work consists mainly of fem characters exploring spooky themes as metaphors for real issues. She utilizes design as a tool for creating comics and zines, and as a resource for sharing information on mental health, feminism, and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Tilu_Zoid is an illustrator, author, and educator from Vallejo, California. They have taught workshops with Beyond Differences and the Asian Art Museum and have had their work published in zine anthologies and online presses, including Voicemail Poems and Stone Canoe.
We are a publishing press and community print shop based in Berkeley. Founded in 2011 we work with local and international artists to produce prints and zines. Additionally we provide affordable access to our equipment and resources through membership to our community space.
Tomatobird has been making and sharing her zines and comics since before 2018. She has a great love of elegant line art, vintage illustration aesthetics, and goofy cartoony expressions. She is best known for her contemplative Biblical-inspired comics and tattoo designs of angels. She recently has been into creating 12th century medieval BL doujinshi ("The Holy Cephalophore," "Quod Ames") and autobiographical works ("Fujo X-Ray visions."). She resides in San Francisco.

WrathOfBom is a comic artist based in the Bay Area. She loves video games, cooking, and eating and reminds everyone to stay hydrated and to eat their veggies.
XFR Collective partners with artists, activists, and community organizations to lower the barriers to preserving at-risk audiovisual media – especially unseen, unheard, or marginalized works – through digitization, screenings, educational workshops, and pop-up events. Operating through a non-hierarchical model, we work to create an inclusive environment in which to explore practical methods for media preservation, archiving, and access.
Hailing from a rural enclave in Northern California, Patricia developed a love of cartoons, comics, and cardigans early on in life and still can't say no to Shetland wool on sale. She is the creator of Zaubercactus, an indie studio that houses her comic strip, POKEY, and several in-progress book projects that explore themes of gender, culture, cosmic American music, and magic in the dry, dusty desert.
